The northern region of Carriacou has some of the island's prettiest scenery, a couple of secluded beaches and agricultural areas that were formerly sugarcane plantations. The hilltop hospital has a magnificent view of the bay and offshore islands. North of here, the road traverses the crest of Belvedere Hill, providing sweeping views of the east coast and of Petit St Vincent and Petit Martinique.
From the Belvedere Crossroads, the route northeast (called the High Rd) leads down to Windward, a small, windy village backed by gentle hills. The road continues to Petit Carenage Bay, at Carriacou's northeastern tip. There's a good beach and views of the northern Grenadines here. If you go west from the Belvedere Crossroads, you'll soon come to the village of Bogles. Just to the north is one of the best beaches in Grenada, at Anse La Roche.
