Les Salines beach Martinique (0 viewing)
Urbanization has spread through much of the island, and most of Martinique's large towns feel like modern suburbs. Nevertheless, nearly a third of Martinique is forested and other areas are given over to pineapples, bananas and sugarcane fields. There are also plenty of hiking trails into the mountains.

Les Salines beach Martinique 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Tune out in a tree hammock, with vast stretches of beach and blue sea in front of you. Les Salines is widely regarded as Martinique's finest beach. The gorgeous long stretch of golden sand attracts hundreds of visitors, scantily clad French tourists and local families alike, but it's big enough to accommodate everyone without feeling crowded. There's plenty of shade and parking on the beach's edge among the hammock-filled trees.

There are showers and food vans near the center of the beach, and about 500m (0.3mi) further south you'll find snack shops selling reasonably priced sandwiches, burgers and chicken. Camping is allowed on the west side of the beach at weekends and during school holidays.
