The average daily high stays around 28°C (82°F) all year, and humidity is tolerable, so the best time to go is the low season of May to mid-December when rates come down. Bonaire is out of the hurricane belt so you don't have to figure the big blow into your schedule.
The high season for cruise ships runs from October to April. Outside of these times the port towns can be almost sleepy.
This small, arid boomerang of an island is a divers' paradise. Skeptical? Read the license plate on your rental car, pal. Bonaire really does have some of the best diving in the region, most of it within the Marine Park encircling its shore.
Dry trade winds and sun galore put the heat on with the average high in any day of the year not drifting too far from 30°C (86°F). Like its fellow islands of the Dutch Antilles, October and November are the only particularly rainy months but are still, relative to most other Caribbean islands, quite dry. The islands usually avoid the Caribbean hurricane season, although in 2004 the tail of Ivan churned up beaches and damaged trees, and 1999's Lenny was unkind to some offshore reefs.
